Cedar Creek played a jamboree at the La. Tech football field and the EE's got to perform. I have attached a picture and a video of their dance. She is the 3rd from the right in the video. Also I included pics from Adam's first game - he is #76.

Moving right along.... here's our 1st day of school pictures. Emma performed with the EE's at opening assembly.....very cool way to start off high school, don't you think? You can really see here how much taller Adam is. Emma says she is "fun-sized"!!! (1st day - 8/17/09)

Next, the Crawfords moved into the EE/Football zone. Adam started practicing for junior high football and Emma started practicing with the Emerald Entertainers. Here's a few pics from one of Adam's scrimmages.... he's #47 in these pictures.

Whew! Where did the summer go??? I have been terrible and not posted anything since June... oh well. Here are a few pics from Emma's play Once Upon a Mattress. We had many friends and family come to see the performances. Here's Emma with the Mississippi Crawfords - Anna Catherine, Jackson, and Chloe, and Rick & Tracy behind. Aunt Kathy came up from Baton Rouge and Memaw came with her. Thanks to all who made the time to come. Emma had a ball and milked her scenes for all they were worth!!!! Don't you love her costume.....

Emma got back from Emerald Entertainer dance camp Tuesday. She worked really hard and had a lot of fun. I filmed their home routine before they left for camp. They are wearing their new basketball uniforms - pretty spiffy!

Cedar Creek Talent Show

Emma and her friend Saraf sang in the Cedar Creek Talent Show. They sang "For Good" from the musical Wicked. We saw the show in Birmingham, and would highly recommend it.

Easter

Easter was cold and rainy, but we didn't let that get in the way. We had a great worship service at CCC and then went to Memaw & Papaw Orr's for lunch. Since everybody gets dressed and goes to church at a different time, I opted to take the "traditional" Easter picture at lunch. The kids are a little old to hunt Easter eggs, but still love to have chocolate candy!

Medieval Times - Dallas

Adam's 6th grade class traveled to Dallas on Friday, February 27th to see Medieval Times. We had never been and it was quite an experience! Our black & white knight won and it was a lot of fun to cheer him on.

Birthdays!

February is always a busy time - we start with Emma's birthday on the 6th and then move to Adam's on the 11th. They turned 14 and 12 this year - unbelievable. Where has the time gone? Emma celebrated with a slumber party with her friends and Adam had a bowling party at the new Tech bowling lanes with his friends. Both were tons of fun!

Coming Home play

Emma was "Sally" in the play, Coming Home, put on by the Cedar Creek Drama Club. (Jan. 30-31) She was the only junior high student cast in one of the major roles, so needless to say, we were very proud! She did an outstanding job and is looking forward to her trying out for the next production!

Upward Basketball

We had a great time playing Upward Basketball. Adam had two great coaches and enjoyed all the guys on his team. I guess I will have to admit that I'm glad the every Saturday ballgames are over. . .

New Year's Eve was spent popping fireworks on Memaw & Papaw's dam. It was VERY COLD!!!! We had a bonfire and roasted marshmallows. Grandma & Grandpa got in on the fun, too. I bought a new camera (Merry Christmas to me!) and couldn't wait to try it out. Of course, in the dark and outside is probably not the best place to experiment with all the dials and buttons on a new camers, but I think the pictures turned out OK anyway. Happy 2009!

Christmas 2008

We enjoyed Christmas Eve at home this year. I fixed supper for Memaw & Papaw, and Grandma & Grandpa. We opened a few presents, and enjoyed visiting with family. Christmas Day was spent with family at Memaw & Papaw's, and then we traveled to Zachary to celebrate with the Crawford clan. We had a busy holiday and enjoyed every minute of it!
